The Mokolumne River AVA is a sub-AVA of Lodi in Northern California. The AVA covers over 87,000 acres and nearly 42,000 of those are planted to wine grapes. The soil there is composed of sand, slit and clay. Grape growers can normally go without the use of irrigation due to the soil moisture retention and ample rainfall. Compared to other surrounding AVA’s, Mokolumne River is relatively cool and breezy. |
