Aug/9/2014 The Baby Is Back
M&M Wine Grape Wine Company, LLC announces that the 2014  Fall Harvest wine grape offerings will include reintroducing the Northeast to the Guerriero Vineyard's Cry Baby Label.

August 9, 2014

M&M Wine Grape Company, LLC, the largest purveyor of wine grapes in the north eastern U.S. announced today the addition of the Cry Baby label to is 2014 Fall Harvest line-up.  Traditional winemakers in the Northeast know Guerriero Vineyard's Cry Baby label well.  It was this grower and packer who introduced the east to Thompson Seedless grapes and began a wine making style that included the use of Thompson Seedless grapes as a mix varietal in wines.  The Guerriero, now in its fourth generation of operations, are exciting to be once again supplying their grapes back east.

Jul/24/2014 Fall Harvest Outlook

As we look forward to the upcoming North American 2014 Fall Harvest, we have compiled information that we would like to share with both our winery and wine making customers.

  1. California - Drought marked the initial challenge for the new season and has been followed by heat wave conditions across much of the growing area.  In places like the Central Valley, the crop size is down and is significantly affecting popular varieties like Zinfandel.  The table grape market, which is an indicator for timing of wine grapes is currently looking to be 3 weeks earlier.  This implies very much an early season like we had last year.  If you are going to be interested in white varietals, you should be placing orders for these no later than July to ensure the grapes are available, as many of these like Sauvignon Blanc, Albarino, etc. will harvest sometime in August.
  2. Washington - So far the 2014 vintage is looking good. Vines are in bloom now and it should be a good crop. There is an increased demand on available supplies as more and more winemakers seek quality Washington grapes.  M&M is looking to expand the offering from Washington including a quality Pinot Noir offering.
  3. New York - While New York experienced significant issues as result of winter weather and with the greatest effects on vinifera, our suppliers have indicated that the hybrid and natives we bring in for Eastern winery customers and wine makers remains intact.  In a good year, there is a lot of demand for product and so those interested in product from this area would be well-served to get orders in early. As a reminder, our NY products are not adjusted, which is a critical distinction between us and other suppliers.
  4. Italy - Fresh Italian juices will be available this Fall, as they have been in the past. There will be a number of options.

 April 25, 2014

(Hartford, CT) M&M Wine Grape Company announced the 21st Annual M&M Wine Grape Company Annual Wine Classic.  The competition judging will be held at the M&M Wine Grape East Coast offices on August 23rd, 2014.  All entries must be received by August 16th, 2014 in order to be eligible for the judging.  This amateur winemaking competition, formerly know as the Amenti del Vino Wine Competition, is an American Wine Society (AWS) sanctioned competition.   This particular competition features separate judging of kit wines versus those made from fresh grapes, fresh juice, or frozen must.

The M&M Wine Grape Company Anual Wine Classic has historically drawn entries from across the US and Canada.  Many of the wine makers who submit their wines are very accomplished at making wine and that is what makes a medal from this competition so meaningful.

To learn more about the competition please call 877.812.1137 or visit the official M&M Wine Grape Company Amateur Wine Classic competition information page. See details…
